A tired and run down townhouse in the heart of connaught village was in desperate need of some attention. Our client wanted an indulgent interior with a family friendly feel.

The Brief
To redesign the property: create a welcoming house, with its own style, a nod to luxury while embracing its traditional features. Add extra bedrooms and bathrooms to elevate the property yield as much as possible. Create a functional space that feels like a home. The Furniture Union was employed to redesign all areas, the finishes, and consequently the furnishing and dressing.
The Design
With the brief in mind, the priorities were the historical elements: fireplaces, coving, and panelling. We restored parts where possible and worked with the contractors to replicate the unsalvageable ones. We created a large galley kitchen suitable for a family, and right next to a large dining room.

An additional kitchenette (which led onto a large terrace) was added for entertaining, and all bedrooms were kept large and spacious. Each bathroom has a consistent design language, including indulgent marbles and traditional wall panelling, but in different layouts and colour schemes. However, we allowed all the modern accessories such as integrated bidet toilets and demisting vanity mirrors for convenience and practicality.
The Result
A traditional yet modern, comfortable yet elegant family home was created with very spacious bedrooms and bathrooms. With two kitchens, a garden, and a separate balcony terrace, an ambiance of luxury was established, and the additional bedroom and bathroom increased the property value.

Using interesting wallpapers and various paint colours, the customer was left with a property that possesses an inviting and homely interior with a touch of decadence.
